Our workshops help you understand your child care options and find programs that meet your family’s needs. We also offer parent education and child development programs.

Urgent Care or Emergency Room? 
Mon, Mar 5, 2018: 6:30-8pm / FREE
Where should you go for a child’s quick stitch-up after a fall at the playground? Is the emergency room necessary? Join us as doctors from Dignity Health-GoHealth Urgent Care talk about how to access the city’s network of urgent care clinics, and how to decide what’s right for your family. Personal Safety Skills with KIDPOWER

Learn personal safety skills for families and children with disabilities with KIDPOWER. The strength based, hands on approach to learning will focus on being and acting aware, setting boundaries, staying safe from bullying or verbal attack and more. Register now.

Tuesday Playgroups

Every Tuesday from 10-11:30am – newcomers always welcome, no RSVP needed!

Each week child development experts lead engaging activities to build young brains, including resources and ideas you can use at home.


Designed for 0-6 year olds, their parents and caregivers. All languages and drop-ins welcome.

New & Expecting Moms Group

In 2018, join us for a six-part series on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm:

This group will support new and expecting mommies through group discussion, interaction and activities. We’ll build new relationships and support communication between you and your child. The facilitator is a new mom herself, with a background in social psychology and adult and child education.

Expecting moms and new moms with babies are encouraged to attend any or all sessions! Learn more in this blog by our facilitator Jess Boehme-Flores.

Choosing Child Care

This workshop helps you evaluate family child care homes and infant/toddler centers. We also explore licensing regulations, legal rights of parents and indicators of quality.

Choosing a Preschool

In this workshop we address program philosophies, quality indicators and tips on navigating the application process. This is a free workshop. Advance registration preferred

Pediatric CPR & First Aid

Receive your certification from the Emergency Medical Services Authority. Course fee is $120, registration is required.
