African American Early Childhood Educator Policy Council
The African American Early Childhood Educator (AA ECE) Policy Council was formed as a stakeholder group with early childhood experts from across San Francisco. This twenty-two plus member council, comprised of industry experts from a variety of ECE settings, were tasked with providing insight, analysis and racial justice recommendations centered on improving student outcomes for AA children 0-5. This group met twice a month for over twelve months while working in partnership with the various ECE stakeholder groups and the African American Early Educator Group to gather input.
The recommendations produced by this council will support the African American early educator community by collaborating and sharing their expertise to increase the number of and retention of African American early educators in the city (FCC and centers).
