PLEASE NOTE: In accordance with the Department of Public Health and the Center for Disease Control guidelines regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and public gatherings, Children’s Council has moved many of our workshops online.


BizNest at Children’s Council offers workshops and classes that provide concrete ways to build your knowledge and skills as a child care provider. Most of our workshops and classes are open to all. Please note that some programs are open only to licensed child care providers. Financial assistance may be available for fee-based classes.

Early Learning SF Website Trainings

Early Learning SF is San Francisco’s early care and education eligibility list and connects Early Learning Scholarship (ELS) programs to families looking for care. The list connects families seeking quality care and education to programs, allowing programs to report and fill ELS and Title 5 vacancies.

Mocha Trainings

Mocha is a new enrollment and payment system for Early Learning Scholarship (ELS) providers with Preschool for All and Gap on Title5 funding. Programs and staff who are currently using Cocoa are invited to register.

CACFP/Food Program:  New Provider Orientations

Licensed child care providers who are interested in receiving monthly partial reimbursements for serving healthy meals by joining the CACFP/Food Program may email our health and nutrition team to learn more and schedule a New Food Program Provider Orientation via Zoom.

Healthy Apple Workshops

Create a healthy child care setting with these free workshops offered by the Healthy Apple Program. Any child care provider who wants to inspire children to eat healthier foods and be more active is welcome to participate. To learn more email Raegan Sales or visit www.HealthyApple.org.

Health & Safety

This 2 day (8-hour) virtual course meets the Preventive Health and Safety requirement for Community Care Licensing. Course fee is $80 and registration is required.

Pediatric CPR & First Aid

At the completion of this two-day course, you will receive your certification from the Health & Safety Institute (HSI), which is an approved affiliate training program by the California EMS Authority (EMSA)*. 

Course fee is $100, registration is required. To apply for financial assistance covering the cost of classes, fill out and submit our reimbursement form, available in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

This is a two-day class that is currently being held as one virtual session and one in-person session — attendance to both days is required. Please refer to event links for more information.

*CPR 4U2 Training Services is approved by the Health & Safety Institute (HSI) to teach the MEDIC First Aid PediatricPlus training program. HSI’s MEDIC First Aid PediatricPlus training program is approved statewide by the California EMS Authority (EMSA) and fulfills California training requirements for childcare providers (22 CA ADC § 100000.17).
