Tell Governor to Support Child Care Funding

childcareLegislature Approves Increase in Child Care Budget

Call Governor’s Office NOW to Ensure He Supports Child Care Funding

On June 16, the Legislature approved a budget increase for early care and education. The budget adds more than $450 million to help families pay for child care and to help providers earn a livable income.

Children’s Council and advocates across the state raised their voices and legislators listened! This budget would not have happened without countless legislative office visits, passionate parent and provider testimonies, online petitions and phone calls to legislators’ offices over the last few weeks. The Governor’s office is the last step. He needs to hear that you want your tax dollars to support child care and early education!

Take one minute TODAY to call the Governor’s office at 916.445.2841. Calling is the fastest way to make your voice heard and every call makes a difference.

If you haven’t made a call to a government official before, it’s really not scary! Simply tell the governor: “I am a child care advocate in San Francisco and I implore you to support the proposed budget for child care and early education in California.”

Join Children’s Council in urging our Governor to support this budget. Together, we can make quality, affordable child care a reality for all California families!
