Join our free, four-week training series designed for early educators to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of trauma on child development and learn strategies to support both children’s and your own well-being.

Each 2.5-hour online session includes an optional 30-minute coaching opportunity at the end.

Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions and may earn up to 10 professional growth hours.

Introduction to Trauma: March 13, 6-8:30pm

Recognize trauma and know how to respond to triggers. Learn what ACES stands for and its effect. Identify the four types of trauma and differentiate between unhealthy and healthy responses.

Neuroscience – Creating Positive Childhood Experience: March 20, 6-8:30pm

Learn about neuroplasticity and neural connections, and their impact on a healthy provider/child relationship. Build routines for predictability, learn about brain pathways, identify words to describe sensations for children and strategize ways to provide a safe environment.

Compassion Fatigue vs. Burnout: March 27, 6-8:30pm

Learn the difference between compassion fatigue and burnout, and in turn how to better support children. Identify triggers, explore the impact of stress and learn why putting yourself first is so important.

Self-Care: April 3, 6-8:30pm

Strategize ways to care of yourself and recognize when your body needs a break. Learn how to provide high quality care for children who have experienced trauma.
