Early Educator Workshop: Supporting Social-Emotional Development 20220427

April 27, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - May 4, 2022 @ 8:30 pm

Free
In this interactive workshop learn how to understand and support the social-emotional development of the children in your care.

This is a 2-part workshop. Please plan to attend on both Apr 27th and May 4th.

Due to concerns surrounding public health, workshops have moved to an online format.  Information to access the online content will be texted or emailed to participants, and materials will be mailed to your address.

A child’s social-emotional development provides them with a sense of who they are in the world, how they learn and helps them establish quality relationships with others. It is what drives an individual to communicate, connect with others, and more importantly, helps resolve conflicts, gain confidence and reach goals. Building a strong social-emotional foundation as a child will help the child thrive and obtain happiness in life. They will be better equipped to handle stress and persevere through difficult times in their lives as an adult. Early educators will walk away from this two-part series workshop having learned the basics on how to:

  • Help children understand their feelings and emotions
  • Support children’s emotional understanding
  • Promote Social-Emotional Development
  • Addressing challenging behaviors
  • Strategies to manage challenging behaviors

The dates and times for these workshops are the following:

1st part: April 27, 6pm-8:30pm

2nd part: May 4, 6pm-8:30pm
