Several Bay Area congressional leaders have joined as co-sponsors of the first bill proposing improved access to and quality of child care for working families in decades.

The bill — introduced by Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) and Congressman Bobby Scott (D-VA) — has been co-sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Sen. Kamala Harris, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Jackie Speier, Rep. Mark DeSaulnier, Rep. Barbara Lee and Rep. Ro Khanna, who all signed on to support the vision set out by the bill.

At Children’s Council, we believe that families and children will be better served by starting this dialogue now, to raise awareness about the economic and social impacts of the fragility of our nation’s support of families with children 0-5 years old.
