Deborah Sims

Deborah Sims is the Director of Equitable Education Spending/Leadership at Pivot Learning. Over her nearly 40-year career, Deborah has consistently exhibited strong leadership, instructional and management skills, focused on creating coherent, accountable school systems and content for rigorous teaching and learning.

Her diverse experience includes having served as a classroom teacher, school principal, Assistant Superintendent, Chief of Schools Officer for School Operations and Instructional Support, School Superintendent and education leadership consultant. She began her career at San Francisco Unified School District as an elementary school teacher before climbing the ranks to serve as Assistant Superintendent, Elementary K-8 Instructional Support and Operation.

Deborah joined the Children’s Council Board of Directors in February 2016.
