5 Ways to Keep Your SF Kid Busy During the Holidays

The holiday season will soon be here, how are you going to keep your little ones busy?  Not to worry, we’ve compiled a list of affordable, stress-free activities for your family or the children you care for.

A nature walk: One of our city’s most beautiful displays of natural wonder, San Francisco Botanical Garden is open and free on Thanksgiving Day. Located in the heart of Golden Gate Park, the Garden offers a welcome break from the bustling city during the holiday season. Check out these amazing photos.

Need to stay indoors? Not a problem! Rather than having your child glued to an iPhone or a tablet, click on this link for creative, fall art/craft ideas for kids.

Light up Market Street! Always a popular holiday event, the 2017 “Snowflakes on Market” Lighting Ceremony highlights the illumination of over 250 LED snowflakes on SF’s main thoroughfare. SF Ballet School students dance in snowflake tutus and live music will lift your holiday spirit.

Union Square Christmas Tree: Avoid the crowds that may overwhelm your little one at the Union Square Tree Lighting Ceremony, and visit this spectacular 83-feet-tall tree on your own time, when everyone can get into the holiday spirit. The tree will be lit through the end of the year.

Free Day at Walt Disney Family Museum: (Recommended for children ages 9 and older.) Mark your calendar for Monday, December 4, when The Walt Disney Family Museum will offer FREE admission in honor of Walt’s birthday. The museum will offer a number of exciting family-friendly activities throughout the day.
