Ruben Pimentel
Director of Outreach & Communications
Ruben Pimentel joined Children’s Council as Director of Outreach and Communications in January 2024. In this role, he oversees the organization’s strategic marketing, outreach and communications initiatives, helping families access the child care they need and ensuring early care educators and providers stay connected to essential workshops, training and resources.
Ruben’s career spans both the nonprofit and entertainment sectors. He began his career in radio broadcasting, working in marketing and promotions and later serving as an on‑air personality. He then transitioned into nonprofit arts marketing and communications, contributing his expertise to organizations including Oakland Symphony and Merola Opera Program.
He holds dual B.A. degrees in Broadcast Electronic Communication Arts (Radio & TV) and Asian American Studies from San Francisco State University, where he was recognized as a presidential scholar.
