I’m Madeline Hero, the Compliance Manager here at Children’s Council. In this role, I work to improve the outcomes of teams who advocate for and support thousands of families and educators in San Francisco’s ECE community.

I have been working with Children’s Council since the summer of 2018, first as a temporary hire to support with an audit and later managing provider data in a couple different roles, most recently serving as the Team Lead administering the Early Educator Salary Support Grant. Prior to joining the Children’s Council team, I worked as an elementary school teacher and as a preschool teacher. This work has given me insight into the struggles that many early educators face, and I am passionate that well supported educators provide more complete and effective care and education to children.

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time outdoors, hiking, camping, and doing archery. On rainy days, you can find me knitting or crocheting with some tea and an audiobook. I love to meet with friends to go dancing or to play board games, and both bring a shared sense of collaboration and competition with my group.
