Laptops will be used for practice in each class\, and will be distributed for take home at the second session. Laptops are given as-is.  \n \nThere are three classes on Wed\, Aug 17\, 24\, and 31. You must attend at least two out of three classes to receive a refurbished laptop. \n\n\nFAQ \n \nWhat kind of laptop is it and what software does it have?  \nFriends of San Francisco Public Library received a wide variety of donated devices that were refurbished with the latest version of Xubuntu (Linux based). The laptops come with Libre Office\, which can be used to create files and export them in all the standard document formats.  \n \nDo the laptops come with Internet?  \nThe devices can connect to wifi\, but do not come with a network. SUMMARY:Empowering Fathers: A Virtual Fatherhood Conference
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, May 21\, 2021\, the Fatherhood Initiative of San Francisco will present “Empowering Fathers: A Virtual Fatherhood Conference.”\n\n\nThis online conference and virtual event brings together a diverse range of Bay Area professionals who work day-in and day-out to guide and mentor fathers through the challenging journey that is fatherhood.  \nFor many\, 2020 has been a year of reckoning: a year of  rising up against systemic racism and facing down a deadly pandemic\, of confronting disparities in health care and dealing with a faltering economy. Everyday life was challenging enough\, but now\, fathers\, like others\, are facing the added stress of trying to keep it together for themselves and their children\, while it sometimes seems like the world is falling apart.  \nThis conference is aimed at empowering fathers to gain awareness and discover resources and tools that can help them take care of themselves and their children\, now and in the future.  We look forward to connecting with you on May 21!
