SUMMARY:Educator Workshop: Trauma and a Child's Development 20220105
DESCRIPTION:A 2 day online training on how a child’s development is impacted by trauma.\n\n\nEarly educators in today’s world will undoubtedly encounter children who have experienced trauma in their lives. As such\, it is important for early educators to understand how trauma affects children’s brain development\, the difference between challenging behaviors and those associated with trauma\, and teaching strategies that build children’s self-efficacy and resilience. Early educators will walk away from this workshop having learned how to:\n \n• Create environments that support resilience and self-efficacy.\n \n• Implement teaching strategies specifically designed to support children’s social emotional development and self-confidence.\n \n• Access local resources with catered supports for children and families who have experienced trauma.\n \nThis is a two-part training series\, with the first training taking place on Wednesday\, January 5\, 2022 and the second workshop on Thursday\, January 6\, 2022.
