Free Diapers for All CalWORKs Families

Drop by 445 Church Street any Tuesday or Friday between 9am and noon!

As the center of San Francisco’s child care community, Children’s Council is proud to offer free diapers for any family receiving CalWORKs. That’s right, free!

Keeping a child in clean diapers can cost between $80 and $100 or more per month. That’s $1,200+ per year to diaper one child with regular changes until potty training. And most child care providers require each child to have a supply of clean diapers.

This free diaper program is a partnership between Children’s Council, San Francisco Human Services Agency and the San Francisco Diaper Bank/Help a Mother Out.

Here’s how it works. Any family who has an active Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card – even if the cash aid they receive is just for their children – can bring the card and their ID to any of 15 locations, including Children’s Council. Every family receiving aid from San Francisco Human Services Agency is eligible to receive six packs of diapers each month per child under the age of three. It’s really that simple.

If you’re on CalWORKs and coming to Children’s Council for a child care appointment, ask your specialist about this wonderful new resource. Or drop by our offices at 445 Church Street on Tuesday or Friday between 9am and noon.
