2023 Family Child Care Provider Champion
Krystle Danridge-Pierson is the founder and director of Each One Teach One Family Childcare in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood.
Born and raised in San Francisco, she has worked in the education field for more than 16 years. With the support of Children’s Council, Krystle obtained her child care license and opened her program in the summer of 2022. She serves a diverse population of families in her community, including lower-income families receiving financial assistance to pay for child care.
Prior to opening her Family Child Care (FCC) business, Krystle served in several early education-focused positions, including Early Child/Parent Development Supervisor at Jelani, Inc; substitute teacher at Bright Horizons; and Lead Teacher/Acting Site Supervisor at Economic Opportunity Council, where, for more than seven years she planned and implemented activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children in the program. In 2014, Krystle traveled to Cape Town, South Africa for two months to study and learn about the country’s early educational philosophy, an experience that has greatly impacted her teaching practices.
Krystle has been active in countless trainings and programs at Children’s Council, including our innovative Family Child Care Business Incubator program, early educator workshops focusing on topics ranging from digital marketing and childhood development, to licensing support and diversity and inclusion. She is also an active member of our African American Early Childhood Educator Policy Council.
Krystle holds a B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development, and an M.A. in Elementary Education from San Francisco State University. She is a wife and mother of two boys.
More about our Family Child Care Champion Award
Each year, Children’s Council of San Francisco honors one early educator in our community as our Family Child Care Provider Champion. For the past seven years, we have honored a range of longtime educators whose lifetime commitment to the children and families of San Francisco have set the bar for high-quality child care in our city.
However, over the past few years, we have been so inspired by the next generation of providers participating in our BizNest suite of programs and supports for new and aspiring early educators, opening thriving new child care businesses, and becoming a part of our vibrant Early Care & Education community. In 2023, we have chosen to honor Krystle Danridge-Pierson, an early-career Family Child Care educator who truly exemplifies the bravery, commitment, energy, empathy and knowledge that it takes to open a new child care business that will impact the lives of children and families in our community.
