More about our Family Child Care Champion Award

Each year, Children’s Council of San Francisco honors one early educator in our community as our Family Child Care Provider Champion. For the past seven years, we have honored a range of longtime educators whose lifetime commitment to the children and families of San Francisco have set the bar for high-quality child care in our city.

However, over the past few years, we have been so inspired by the next generation of providers participating in our BizNest suite of programs and supports for new and aspiring early educators, opening thriving new child care businesses, and becoming a part of our vibrant Early Care & Education community. In 2023, we have chosen to honor Krystle Danridge-Pierson, an early-career Family Child Care educator who truly exemplifies the bravery, commitment, energy, empathy and knowledge that it takes to open a new child care business that will impact the lives of children and families in our community.
