Ed Chetan Edwin, CSPG, Director of Major Gifts & Planned Giving
Ed works as a key member of Children’s Council’s Advancement Team, helping our donors make strategic, tax-wise decisions regarding the transfer of their financial resources in the form of current and/or deferred gifts.
Ed has 25 years of experience in philanthropic and charitable estate planning. Most recently he served at the Arthritis Foundation, representing the organization across seven states on the West Coast. He has also held positions at UC-Berkeley (his alma mater), Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Ashland), Alzheimer’s Association, World Vision (Seattle) and The Salvation Army (Sacramento and Kansas/Missouri).
Prior to his work in the nonprofit arena, Ed spent 18 years in Private Banking/Trust & Investments for Union Bank, Charles Schwab & Co., and Comerica Bank.
Ed received his B.A. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) from the American Institute for Philanthropic Studies at California State University, Long Beach.
He is a member of the National Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and has served in leadership roles with local chapters in Sacramento and Fresno. He has served as president of the San Joaquin County Planned Giving Chapter for three years.
