Children’s Council Remembers Mayor Ed Lee

Dear Friends of Children’s Council,

The staff and board of directors of Children’s Council are deeply saddened by the loss of Mayor Ed Lee on Monday, December 12, 2017.

Mayor Lee was instrumental in establishing the San Francisco Office of Early Care and Education in 2014, creating a citywide vision for quality, affordable child care for all families in our community. His support of the expansion of funding for child care has ensured that thousands of San Francisco children, both now and long into the future, will be ready for school and ready for life.

Mayor Lee’s legacy will live on through the work of Children’s Council and countless other early education organizations in our community.

He was truly a child care champion, and he will be greatly missed.
