Onsite Child Care

From August 13-14, Children’s Council organized onsite child care for school-age children of our employees. This pilot program was such a success that we plan to offer it on several school holidays throughout the 2014-15 school year.

We hired a professional child care provider to lead the group. And several staff members (both parents and non-parents) volunteered to help out for 30-60 minutes at a time.

We’ve converted one large room to be a kid-friendly play space. The group used this as a kind of homeroom. We took advantage of being close to Dolores Park for some great physical activity, and visited nearby Eureka Valley Library.

Children’s Council is excited to offer this option for working parents on our staff. To learn more about how we created this pilot program, please email Claudia Quinonez.

Thank you, Children’s Council, for offering this valuable service. It was fun for the whole family and put us at ease for our child care concerns between the end of summer programs and the beginning of school. The provider, Kevin, created two full days of pure fun. We hope you are able to offer this again. Our six year-old already asked when he can return!
