Fighting Childhood Obesity

President Obama declared September 2014 to be National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month. The really good news is that a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found a 43% drop in the obesity rate of children age 2-5 over the past 10 years! That tells us that communities across the country are getting active and eating better.

On Saturday, November 15 Children’s Council hosts its annual Growing Healthy Kids community health fair. It runs from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Everett Middle School, 450 Church Street.
