Sandee Blechman, Executive Director
Sandee Blechman, Executive Director, joined Children’s Council in 2011. Under Sandee’s leadership, Children’s Council has strengthened programs for both families and child care providers, modernized its brand and technology, including a mobile-friendly Child Care Finder, and built a private base of support to support innovation and new programs.
Sandee is a leader in the local and state child care communities. She serves as both Chair of the Policy & Legislation Committee and as a member of the Executive Committee of San Francisco’s Child Care Policy and Advisory Council (CPAC). She is also on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the San Francisco Office of Early Care & Education, and she was recently elected to the Board of the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network.
Sandee is a career-long non-profit executive and leader. Prior to Children’s Council, Sandee served as Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco and Vice President for Finance and Administration at the San Francisco Art Institute.
Sandee also has extensive volunteer leadership experience, having served on the Board of Directors at Jewish Vocational Service, and on the Board of Trustees at the San Francisco Day School, where she was Board President from 1999 to 2001. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Film Institute.

Jennifer joined Children’s Council in 2016. She has more than 15 years of managerial experience in the non-profit sector and a track record of getting initiatives off the ground, taking them to scale and developing strategic partnerships that drive toward mission impact.
Prior to Children’s Council, Jennifer spent more than a decade at Prosperity Now (then, the Corporation for Enterprise Development), a national non-profit that makes it possible for millions of people to achieve financial security and contribute to an opportunity economy—most recently as Vice President for Field Engagement. Earlier in her career, Jennifer worked in the U.S. Senate and for domestic and international organizations that work to build the economic independence of women and girls.
Jennifer serves on the board of the Episcopal Impact Fund and has served on the boards of Rural Dynamics, Inc. and Beacon Day School. Auna Harris, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer
Auna Harris is an experienced financial, human resources and operations professional with many years of experience in a variety of non-profit, for-profit and governmental organizations. During the last 16 years, she managed Payroll and Personnel Business Services at UC Berkeley, was Human Resources Administration Manager at the San Francisco Chronicle, spent seven years at the Marin County Sheriff’s Department as Administration and Fiscal Operations Officer, was Director of Finance & Facilities at the Alameda County courts, and spent a brief time at the California Health Care Foundation.
Auna also serves on the Board of Girls Inc. in West Contra Costa County. She is active in district education and has taken on other community service roles. Amie Latterman, Director of Advancement
Amie Latterman joined Children’s Council in 2016. She brings more than 15 years of nonprofit fundraising, marketing/outreach, event planning and communications to the team. She most recently served as the development director for SPUR, a Bay Area urban planning and policy organization, for a decade. In that role, Amie managed a team of more than 100 executive-level volunteers and 8 staff fundraisers to raise or generate income to support a $6.1M, highly diversified annual operating budget, raising more than $27M over her last five years in the role, plus $6.1M in endowment funds. She was responsible for the annual fund, membership, special events and earned income. Prior to joining SPUR, she worked as the outreach director for Child Family Health International, a social enterprise, non-profit organization in San Francisco. In addition, Amie spent several years in the field of Japan-U.S. relations and cross-cultural training. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in political science from Boston College.
Amie was a founding board member of the national Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN), and spent several years on the advisory board of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of YNPN. She currently is the Chair of the Board for Parents for Public Schools San Francisco. She and her partner are raising three children in San Francisco, with the support of a fantastic village that includes their neighborhood preschool and public elementary school.
