License-Exempt Caregivers
License-exempt caregivers do not have to have a child care license. They care for children of only one family besides their own. They are usually relatives, friends, or neighbors. License-exempt providers also include nannies, babysitters, and au pairs. They are not required to have early childhood education training. Many do have related training or experience.
Children's Council offers activities specifically for license-exempt providers. We include storytelling, nutrition, child development, and arts & crafts.
