Child Care Capacity Building
The Capacity Building Project increases child care capacity and quality. Our services include classes, advice and training, and educational scholarships.
We help pay for low-income family child care applicants' start-up costs. We support licensed providers professional development. We also help people in welfare-to-work programs pursue careers in child care.
Capacity Building covers the cost of safety equipment and supplies for child care providers. We pay for child care for parents at training events and job fairs. We also purchase developmentally appropriate toys for our Toy Lending Library.
The program distributes newsletters to participating parents and child care providers. We collaborate with family child care networks in the Mission, Bayview-Hunters Point, OMI, and Visitacion Valley. We also work with the San Francisco Family Child Care Association.
